Most wallpapers will indicate the pattern match on the back. A random match wallpaper is the easiest to work with. This means that the strips of wallpaper may be hung together without worrying about the pattern matching up at the seams. A vertical stripe wallpaper, grasscloth, or textures are all good examples of random match patterns.
A straight match matches across the wallpaper, or in other words it matches the pattern from the other side of the strip. It is not complex and you will easily be able to see how the strips need to be hung to make a seamless pattern across the wall.
A drop match wallpaper has a design that matches up across strips both vertically and horizontally. There are multiple types of drop matches (most are half-drop or a quarter drop). This simply means that the pattern will match up with a different spot in the design for the next strip. You can think of a half drop as half of a straight drop because it will match the same spot in the design every other strip.
Both drop and straight matches will cause some extra waste as you will need to remove more excess from the top as you would with a random match. Patterns with a matches, 24″ or more, may require you to buy additional wallpaper rolls to complete the project.
The colours shown on screen are accurate as to the final printed product yes. There can be some variation between computer monitors which is worth bearing in mind due to brightness and colour intensity, however this is usually very minimal. If you have any specific concerns about colour matching, we can provide a printed sample for you before you make the final order.
Yes you should. We need your accurate measurements and then we will print your wallpaper slightly larger to account for any uneven walls or minor measuring errors.
Most of our wallpapers are customisable. We can alter colours, make images black and white, add company logos, text and much more. If you would like to customise your mural then please do not hesitate to contact us with your requirements and our designers can help.
When you send an order enquiry to us, we will come back to you within 24 hours with an email including a proof image showing how your wallpaper mural will look on your wall. If you need any changes making at this point then you simply need to let us know, and if you are happy with it and wish to proceed then payment can be made and we will print your wallpaper right away.
As long as the room is well ventilated and the walls are in good condition, wallpaper can normally be used in bathrooms. However, with the exception of our vinyl papers, they should not be placed in areas where they are likely to come into contact with water.
In order to help prevent against problems when using wallpapers in a high humidity areas, we recommend using a sealer like Polyvine on top of the wallpaper which will provide better protection against moisture. We advise you test Polyvine on a wallpaper sample to check you are happy with the finish before applying to the wall.

If the wallpaper that you have received is faulty or an order error has been made by Designer Wallpaper, our Customer Service team will arrange a replacement paper to be shipped to you and help facilitate the return of the faulty goods.
If the return is a result of a customer error, please note that a re-stocking charge of 25% of the invoice value will be applied to the goods being returned.
It will be the responsibility of the customer to arrange the return of the goods to Designer Wallpaper.
Goods can only be accepted for return by prior agreement with Designer Wallpaper and must be returned within 30 days of Invoice date.
Please Note: We do not accept any returns on custom made wall murals or special order items.
